Happy Monday Tribies! 

This week we're setting ourselves up for Holiday Season Success! 

In our group coaching calls I'll be doing a 2 part Holiday Season Masterclass (1 part each call, catch the replay if you can't make it). 

Fast Mama empowers women in weight loss and this Holiday Season I want to ensure you are empowered right through to 2024. 

 

We finished and started a new 30 days this past week. Be sure to take time to reflect and look at your progress both on and off the scales. 

 

Feelings Focus:

This week we're diving deeper into the feeling of 'Happiness'.

The purpose of this weekly feeling focus is to build our vocabulary for emotions, build awareness and confidence in feeling our feelings. 

I choose the weekly feeling randomly. If you'd like me to dive deep on a particular feeling let me know and we'll do it. 

I use Brene Brown's 'Atlas of the Heart' book along with resources mentioned each week. 

I chose happiness this week because I was gardening at the weekend and thinking about why happiness was THE ONE feeling society decided should be felt as much as possible. 

My mind wonders a lot when I'm out gardening, usually I ask myself more questions than I can answer, I give myself permission to think and not find answers, just to ponder and explore. 

So I was exploring feelings, positive and negative, and I was thinking of the full human experience, how grief and loss feel and the value of knowing those feelings, to have felt love and connection (told you my mind goes places when I garden). 

Then I stumbled across the usual question I consider when I'm thinking about feelings "is happiness really the purpose of life?" "is our goal really to experience as much happiness as possible?". 

I always have arguments for and against just like I did this weekend. 

So today I've decided it's a great time to explore happiness, how it feels in our body and what it creates for us in our lives. 

Happiness, seems to be quite an "ambiguous word that has been used historically as an overarching term to describe an entire realm of positive emotions. 

The vast majority of research we have examines happiness as a trait (part of who we are), not a state (something we experience).

Looking at happiness as a trait, the level could be described as being on the happy side of neutral. 

Looking at the data we've collected, I would define the state of happiness as feeling pleasure often related to the immediate environment or current circumstances."

I love this next bit...

"We need happy moments and happiness in our lives; however, I'm growing more convinced that the pursuit of happiness may get in the way of deeper, more meaningful experiences like joy and gratitude. 
I know from the research and my experience, that when it comes to parenting, what makes children happy in the moment is not always what leads them to developing deeper joy, grounded confidence, and meaningful connection."

So if you think about happiness as a feeling, a state of being, what do you think it feels like in your body? 

Is it fast or slow?

Light or heavy?

Does happiness sit in a particular spot of your body or is it all over? 

Is it a warm feeling or cool feeling? 

Spend a minute and consider what happiness feels like in your body. 

For me it feels like a warmth through my arms and torso. It's a slow moving warmth with a bit of a spark in my heart area. 💞

You Time: Private time dedicated just to you, a time where we prioritise and work on what's important to you and your goals and help you overcome what's getting in your way of achieving them.

Privacy: Some things might feel too personal to share in a group setting and working through them is what you feel called to do. Our private sessions allow you to bring up any event, circumstance or any topic you want to get coached on, it's a safe space to work through anything you feel is holding you back from shining bright.

Make yourself proud: You might feel in a rut not making any progress and you’re ready to step up and make yourself proud. Private coaching can help you set bigger goals that you are willing to strive for and can help keep you focused on getting there.
