Tribe News - 3rd April 2023

 

Happy Monday beautiful Tribies,

How are you? 

If you pause, sit, breathe and feel, what do you notice? What do you feel? 

I was reflecting today on how much I used to fill gaps of silence with talk, noise and nervous laughter. 

I thought having silence meant I wasn't enough. 

I wasn't engaging, valuable, worthy or achieving. 

At work, in social settings, in close relationships. 

It's so fascinating to reflect now on that and on how much I was driven by what other people think of me. 

Now, now I'm happy to sit in silence without the need to make the other person feel comfortable and without seeking their approval. 

I now know my own worth, I choose my own value and I show up unapologetically as me... most of the time.

There's still moments I catch myself 'trying to impress' or 'filling gaps of silence to win others over'. 

But they are SO MUCH less often and impact my life very little these days. 

I walk my own path. 

 

I know myself. 

I'm proud to be me. 

I would never have been able to get to this place if I thought my weight has any impact on those points above. 

If I believed my weight had anything at all to do with my worth, who I am, my value, my success...

I would miss the gift of self confidence I have today.

The message here is to keep working on your thoughts about your weight and what it's connected to. 

It didn't happen overnight for me and it likely won't for you too. 

But keep working at it. It will happen.

With our new Masterclass on Creating Freedom around Food I felt like it was time to update other areas of the Tribe to support this approach and goal. 

Living life how you want to live it, fully, BEFORE you get to your goal weight is so important. And I wanted a place to capture and celebrate Tribies doing exactly this. 

So our old 'Hall of Fame' has been updated to the 'Hall of Shine' where we will be highlighting Tribies who are living their life shining bright regardless of whether they're at goal weight or not.

Tribie Spotlights: 

I want to spotlight the amazing Tribies who continue to find what works best for them. As I look over Saturdays' check ins love that there's no 'right day'. We have some on day 83 and 1/30, some closing out the month, others on day 7/23 and 2/31. I just LOVE how each of you are doing it in a way that works best for you. 

So if you're reading this waiting for the next challenge stop waiting and just get started.

Day 83 - April 1/30 - 13 days to Easter
So I achieved my goal is March and proved that if I show up everyday and be accountable, track and set myself up for success, it works 🙌
APRIL red flag 🚩 Easter and school holidays 😅
I  said to my husband last night, we are only going to have hot cross buns on the Easter Sunday, not a week coming in to and out of Easter like we’ve previously done 😉. I’ve got multiple dinners and outings this month compared to last month, so I’ll have to plan in advance for these.
For the record, my goal this month is another loss of 5kgs 💪 And this will bring me more happiness 😀 then a tummy full of chocolate and buns
Short term goal: 15kgs by Easter
Loss since last weigh in: -200gms
Total Loss: 13.6kgs

I finished up March overall happy with the progress made during the month.
Starting off this new month in a good position.
 Been having an easier time planning and practicing lately and it just feels so much better than the alternative.
Planning on two great days over the weekend. Starting the month as I mean to go on.

Day 7/23, SW 96.4 kg todays weight 95.8. 0.2⬇️ vs yesterday and the weeks result is 0.6 ⬇️. Ok result in light of a couple of unplanned days this week and reduced physical activity due to the non stop rain. Today we are driving 2 hours to the coast and  we stopped for petrol. Usually this is a trigger for me to buy biscuits, winegum and or chocolate - yes at least 2 bags. Today I paid for the petrol and had a bottle of water, iced tea and chewing gum. On our way now and not stopping on the way. Better than old average. #Prima2023 #ChangingHabits

Day 2/31 Days of Practice. Yesterday was not the best, as though I didn't succumb to Hot Cross Buns in M&S (looked at the calorie count and thought it wasn't worth it, what with the butter and all!), I bought Crawford's Cheddars (lovely crunchy cheesy  biccies) from a supermarket which imports British food. Despite my realistic planning, I went overboard and ate a whole packet in one sitting last night. Time to work on my willpower! Anyhow, showing up and checking in this morning, made a realistic plan which doesn't include Cheddars, and off I go again practicing!

March Challenge - DONE!!! Goal achieved: Practiced, planned, showed up, challenged my thoughts, listened and listened more, got tangled up on some days, breezed through others: Practice Practice Practice and more - this is my daily go to. Measurements  down. - reached .7 below my goal. Avg wgt down - 4kg. I prefer to use moving avge as body weight goes up and down each day and Im not giving in to that mindset beast!!! Bust down 5 cms, waist down 4 cms. Strength training PBS reached through out this month. Fasted longer and better. This is my evidence that I will look back on and use to remind me that its just one day, just one hour if im feeling stuck. I can get back on my chosen plan not matter what part of the day it is and move forward. Power to the Tribies 🤩🤩🤩who cheer and support each other - we can do this!!! Now for next steps- plan, practice and show up!!🥳

Total loss since my Last Start in October - 14.8kgs.
Feeling good, been in LWC & watching lots of the coaching replays.
