Tribe News - 8th August 2022

Happy Monday Tribies.

Last week I spent the week skiing with my family. 

My husband and I decided when we turned 30 that we wanted to go to Canada for our 40th Birthdays. 

But a year out from our 40ths Covid hit and it didn't look like we were going to be able to travel overseas.

So we booked a big trip to our local ski fields to celebrate as best as we could. 

Then we were locked down when we were meant to travel. 

This past week was our big trip, that wasn't as big as it was meant to be, and was delayed by a year.

And...

The weather was crap.

It rained for 2 of the 5 days. Like poured with rain.

Then it snowed and was high winds for 2 of the other days with many of the ski lifts closed.

The best day we had was our first day but we couldn't get my 5yo into ski lessons so I spent the whole day teaching him to ski. 

Finally, on the last day of the trip my eldest son got sick. 

We could choose to focus on all the negatives of the whole trip but we're not.

We totally believe we had THE BEST holiday. 

We are only focusing on the positives. 

We achieved our Family goal of skiing down the mountain together. 

I taught my 5yo to ski and he was able to skip a few levels by the time he got into ski lessons.

The kids got to experience A LOT of discomfort being wet and cold and also the joys and rewards of it all when skiing. (the discomfort is one of the main things I love about taking my kids to the snow)

Day 3 weather was so bad we stayed home and hung out playing games, relaxing and watching tv.

We all got time by ourselves, with each other 1:1 AND together as a family. 

And we celebrated our 5yo turning 6. He's wanted to be 6 since he was 3!

I must admit I had to consciously focus on the positives and actively choose how I wanted to think about this week. It didn't all come natural to me, it was a big week of effort. 

What an adventure, I feel like my little family has officially kicked off a lifetime ahead of adventures together. 

I share this story to highlight the power of our thoughts. 

This week we're focusing on Evaluating and Celebrating. 

And you guessed it! 

You get to think what you want about how you're doing. 

I coached beautiful Sam last week on focusing on what she IS doing well instead of what she wasn't dong well. 

And I want all of you to do this this week. 

Instead of looking at what's NOT working, let's focus on highlighting all the things that ARE working. 

Even if they're things you do every single day, like your fasting, it still counts as something you're doing well. 

So when I post in the Facebook Group this week I want you to share all the wins you're having. 

Trust me, this will radically change how you feel.

Tribie Spotlight: Amelie Frie

 

This week we're spotlighting Amelie for her consistency and growth.

COMMITTING TO MYSELF AND PRIMA!

I’ve been in the tribe since January and lost 12 kg. I’m now about 7(?)kg away from my goal. I’ve accepted and decided not to put too much pressure on myself over summer holidays and aimed for maintenance 💪🏽 It’s been a challenge for this emotional eater 😮‍💨😅
Now I’m taking the step to loose those last kg and reach prima. I have a couple of events coming up and I want and will(!) be at a lower weight by then. I’m now 74-75  kg
Results: 💎
💫 70 kg by sept 9th (wedding weekend)
💫 67 kg by sept 30th (friend’s birthday, weekend with my girlfriends)
💫 Evaluate oct 2nd and decide on “prima-weight”.

Fast plan:
💪🏽16:8 (usually longer).
💪🏽Low carb and Mediterranean. No added sugar.
💪🏽Kcals 800-1000. Logg all foods.

Amelie has been showing up to the coaching sessions (and catching replays when she can't make them), she's been doing the thought work and feelings work, practicing it, imperfectly, and making progress. 

A massive congratulations and well done Amelie, for making yourself a priority and doing the practice. 

 

What's On:

This week we finish up our 28 Day Boost, we Evaluate and Celebrate, collecting data and information to help us make progress next month. 

Don't put this step off thinking you've not made progress. 

We are learning and practicing, changing our brains, changing how we think about things, and practicing allowing our feelings. ALL OF THIS WORK is lifechanging and is progress. 

Next week we will shift our focus onto our Self Concept. How and what we think about ourselves. Get ready for a big month of personal growth (while you shrink).
